Often times, you never know what memories will be left behind in these abandoned hospitals. Some buildings have been cleaned out leaving long hallways and empty rooms, where others look like everyone disappeared one day and never looked back. It is unbelievable what one may come across in these buildings. In the second case, for instance, the unclaimed suitcases found in Tennessee State Hospital. This photograph only begins to tell the emotion in this discovery. It was a powerful moment. These suitcases contained a variety of abandoned possessions, from vintage photographs to the remains of family letters. I wonder if anyone misses them.
